At the Bethel Park Planning & Zoning Commission meeting tonight, by a vote of 7-1, the commission approved the application from the Bethel Park School District for the lot consolidation and lot development proposal to construct the new K-5 elementary school on the Neil Armstrong campus and adjacent property. The commission stipulated their approval upon satisfaction of any remaining issues the municipal engineers have identified. They also recommended the sidewalk on Kings School Road be included in the design instead of the municipality granting a waiver of the requirement. From here, the project moves to the Municipal Council for approval of the application.
Groundbreaking is tentatively scheduled for October of this year.
