The School Board has contracted with the Hayes Design Group to complete a study of the district’s five elementary and two middle schools. The board has five concerns and related questions to be answered by the architectural and engineering experts:
- Concerns about the condition of our aging schools. What should we expect to need in the next five years?
- Concerns about the declining enrollment. We are down 795 students since 2011. How much extra space do we have?
- Concerns about inequity in elementary class sizes. How do we balance class sizes across all five buildings?
- Concerns about educational quality. What are the trends in education and what do we need to do to get us there?
- Concerns about finances and how we should invest our tax dollars to achieve the best possible outcomes while maintaining good stewardship of the taxpayers’ investment.
The Hayes Group report will be ready in the Spring of 2021.
